Since January 2018 Cecilia Lonning-Skovgaard has been the Mayor of Employment and Integration in the City of Copenhagen and political leader of the liberal party in Copenhagen. Prior to that Cecilia has been a member of the Copenhagen City Council since 2008.
In 2001 Cecilia Lonning-Skovgaard finished her master’s degree in political science from Aarhus University. She was the first woman to receive the Crown Prince Frederik’s scholarship, which made it possible to study a Master of Public Administration at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Cecilia has a broad work experience with managerial experience from both the public and the private sector. Cecilia has worked for companies such as McKinsey, Carlsberg Breweries and Codan / RSA Scandinavia and as Senior Director at Ørsted.
Cecilia is married to Anders Lonning-Skovgaard who is Executive VP and CFO at Coloplast. They live in Østerbro and have three kids at age of four, eight and 12.
As a kid Cecilia played table tennis and, in her youth, she was coach of the women’s national team. Despite a busy schedule she works out and participates in the annual Copenhagen half marathon. At the annual DHL 5k run at Fælledparken, she beat the administration’s two male directors and performed one of the fastest runs of the whole organization.
