Nordic Director, UN Women
Asger Ryhl, director of UN Women’s Nordic office, holds responsibility for the Nordic branch of UN Women, the UN entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established in July 2010 to accelerate progress on meeting women’s needs worldwide. Asger Ryhl has worked for the UN since his graduation as cand.polit. in 1993 where he started at UNFPA in New York. Since then, he has held various positions in Africa, Asia, the Pacific and New York. Asger Ryhl has been with UN Women since 2011, and in his current position at the Nordic Office since 2013.
